MOGERS DREWETT AWARDED CORPORATE PARTNER STATUS

Employees at the Wells and Bath offices of law firm Mogers Drewett received a surprise visit from Big Ted, the mascot of The Royal United Hospital’s Forever Friends Appeal, to thank them for their fundraising support during this year’s Ted’s Big Day Out and to present them with a corporate plaque officially marking the company’s status as a Corporate Partner of the Appeal.

The Forever Friends Appeal is the chosen charity of the West Country based law firm and the company has raised over £18,000 towards the Appeal’s £8.5 million fundraising goal to help build a pioneering new Cancer Centre for Bath’s Royal United Hospital. The news was delivered direct to the employees by Big Ted himself on his visit with the presentation of a Corporate Partnership plaque to the staff.

Steven Treharne, Managing Partner of Mogers Drewett said, “We feel passionately about supporting the local communities and charities where we operate from and we have been involved with raising funds for the Forever Friends Appeal for a long time. The Cancer Care Appeal has really touched our team as unfortunately, many of us know or have known cancer sufferers. It is an honour to be recognised by the charity for our involvement in fundraising and the team is delighted to be able to continue to support such an important cause.”

Corporate Officer for The Forever Friends Appeal, Jo Common, comments: “This ongoing support shows just how important relationships between charities and local businesses can be. We thoroughly enjoy working with Mogers Drewett and are so pleased that the Bath and Wells offices are on board with our fundraising Campaign for a pioneering new Cancer Centre. We would therefore like to thank them for all the funds they have raised for the Appeal over the years. Recognising Mogers Drewett as one of our highly valued Corporate Partners, with an acknowledgement in the new Cancer Centre, is our way of being able to say thank you.”

The fundraising activity is already set up to continue throughout 2015, with eight Mogers Drewett employees signing up to run the Bath Half Marathon in March in aid of the charity.
