Positive start to 2021 for M&A activity in the UK

There is no doubt that 2020 was a challenging year for business. The impact of the pandemic during 2020 did not, however appear to lessen the appetite for corporate M&A activity in the UK and judging by the first quarter of 2021 this looks set to continue.

Despite 2021 starting with the UK entering a third lockdown our Corporate Commercial Team advised on a total of 20 deals (13 sales and 7 purchases) with a combined transaction value of over £48m. We expect this to continue as restrictions lift and the economy re-opens.
