Digital Marketing Executive

Location: Bath office – with occasional travel to Wells, Sherborne and Frome. Hybrid with a minimum of 3 days in office.

Salary: £30-32,000- DOE

Reports To: Head of Marketing and BD

Overview

We are seeking an initiative-taking and curious Digital Marketing Executive to support and develop the firm’s digital marketing activity. We are on a journey of digital transformation and growth and this role will support this development across the firm.

This is a standalone digital role within a small and collaborative Marketing and Business Development team. While guidance and support are available, the role offers a high degree of ownership and the opportunity to shape and improve the firm’s digital presence.

The role will contribute to enhancing the firm’s online visibility, improving client engagement and supporting lead generation across website, search, social media, email marketing and event activity.

This role would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership, is curious about how digital marketing is evolving, and wants to develop their skills in a hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities

Digital Marketing & Campaign Delivery

  • Support the planning and delivery of digital marketing activity across website, email, social media, paid channels and event promotion, including the use of platform tools and AI-assisted features to improve performance in line with the marketing and business development strategy and plans
  • Take ownership of day-to-day digital activity, ensuring campaigns are delivered effectively, on time and work with our digital marketing agency
  • Monitor and optimise campaigns to improve engagement, performance and quality of enquiries
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions to improve digital activity, taking a practical, test-and-learn approach
  • Manage and develop the evolving GEO and AI developments for the firm and manage a CRM system in due course

Website & Content

  • Manage and maintain the firm’s website, ensuring content is accurate, user-friendly and aligned with brand guidelines
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and publish content that supports client needs and business priorities
  • Ensure content is clearly structured and optimised for online visibility (including search engines and evolving search behaviours)
  • Support ongoing improvements to website usability, accessibility and performance
  • Manage and develop the website CMS on Word Press or similar

SEO, PPC & Online Visibility

  • Support SEO activity, including keyword research, on-page optimisation and working with external agencies
  • Plan, initiate and deliver PPC campaigns across paid search and social media
  • Proving the firm’s visibility in search engines through consistent, high-quality content and website optimisation
  • Build an understanding of how search and online discovery are evolving, including the role of AI in search tools and how digital advertising platforms are evolving, and support small-scale improvements over time

Social Media & Email Marketing

  • Manage and develop the firm’s social media presence, ensuring consistent and engaging content across all major platforms
  • Plan and deliver email marketing campaigns, including newsletters and targeted communications
  • Monitor engagement and refine activity to improve reach and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with lawyers and business development teams to maximise sales and business development opportunities

Events & Campaign Support

  • Support the promotion of firm events (e.g. seminars, webinars and client events) across digital channels
  • Assist with the creation of event-related content, including invitations, email campaigns and follow-up communications
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure events are effectively supported through digital activity before and after delivery
  • Attend events where required to support delivery, capture content and contribute to follow-up activity
  • Contribute to tracking engagement and outcomes from events where appropriate

Analytics & Reporting

  • Track and analyse digital performance using tools such as Google Analytics and platform insights- working with our digital marketing agency
  • Produce regular reports with clear and practical recommendations
  • Monitor key metrics including website traffic, engagement and campaign performance. Monitor digital marketing and legal marketing trends

Collaboration & Ways of Working

  • Collaborate closely with colleagues within the Marketing and, Business Development team and the legal teams
  • Consult with, and monitor performance of, external agencies and suppliers
  • Manage and prioritise your own workload, balancing day-to-day delivery with longer-term improvements
  • Seek input and support where needed, while taking ownership of your areas of responsibility
  • Occasional flexibility to support events outside standard working hours- by agreement. Some weekend and evening work will be expected

  • Ensure all activity complies with SRA regulations, GDPR and relevant data protection requirements
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, tone and brand consistency
  • Stay up to date with developments in digital marketing and changes in how people search and engage online

Person Specification

Essential

  • Marketing Degree – preferably in Digital Marketing
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a digital marketing role
  • Understanding of core digital channels, including website, social media, email marketing and SEO
  • Strong written communication, graphic design skills and diligence
  • Ability to manage tasks and prioritise effectively
  • Comfortable taking ownership of work while working within a supportive team
  • Driving Licence and access to a car
  • Experience of paid digital marketing campaigns and email marketing campaigns
  • Experience using Google Analytics
  • Experience of CMS systems – preferably Word Press

Desirable

  • CIM qualification or extra digital marketing certification
  • Experience with CRM systems
  • Interest in how digital marketing is evolving, including the use of AI tools in search and content
  • Experience with a Professional Services, or Law firm
