Frequently asked questions

A settlement agreement (formerly known as a Compromise Agreement) is a legally binding agreement between you and your employer. This usually provides for a severance payment by the employer in return for your agreement not to pursue any claims in a tribunal or Court.

Only shareholders can remove a director but only if 50% of the shareholders agree. Once agreed the process of notifying the director needs to be followed very carefully to ensure there are no challenges from the director later on. Legal advice is always advised.

TUPE stands for Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment). TUPE regulations protect the rights of an employee when transferring to a new employer.
