Head of Marketing and Business Development, Marketing Bath

My favourite definition of marketing – The Business of Business

How I interpret that definition for a law firm is that we can all directly influence outcomes and help to achieve goals, whatever our role in the business.

My philosophy is to stay curious, always know there’s more to learn, and not be afraid to take inspiration from my brilliant colleagues who are the future of the firm.

My career journey has included highlights such as leading the creation of the online payment service MoneyGram, setting up a joint publishing venture for travel guides between the AA and Thomas Cook,  launching the Building Society marketing awards, organising a groundbreaking event at the Long Room, Lord’s Cricket Ground, introducing the UK’s first smartphone app dedicated to employment law and working with the DfE as part of strategic working group supporting the schools academy programme.

I have 20+ years experience of working within the legal sector and have worked as an interim executive in a variety of roles including Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer although marketing remains my passion.

To date I’ve written and had published three books, two dedicated to digital marketing for law firms and my latest a guide to managing generational diversity in the workplace.  I’ve hosted my own podcast HReSource for three years and in making over 40 episodes met the most amazing, inspirational cast of guests who almost always leave me in awe.

As you should expect from someone in this role I’m a little geeky and have rather too many social media accounts, including TikTok and no it does not involve “dad dancing” to the Weekend.
