I am a Partner in the Private Client team based in the Sherborne office.
I originally practised as an attorney for a large regional law firm in South Africa before moving to the UK twenty years ago requalifying as a solicitor under the Qualified Lawyers' Transfer Scheme. I then became a partner in 2001.
I specialise in estate planning and wealth protection, focussing on complex Wills, estate administrations and inheritance tax issues. I regularly advise farmers and business owners as well as individuals with property in foreign jurisdictions.
I like to think that I offer an innovative approach and I’m really passionate about creating a strong client service culture across the team.
I’m lucky enough to live in a lovely picturesque village near Sherborne and away from the office, I enjoy gardening, walking, cycling and exploring the coast in my sea kayak.
Mr McFarlane understood the information the charities needed at the outset and kept us updated of progress. Pleasure dealing with him, a refreshing change to work with someone who appreciates the information we need to conform to charity commission regulations.

Despite 2021 starting with the UK entering a…

Despite the increased problems for loved ones left behind, it is estimated that 59%* of people in the UK still don’t have a Will. So where to…
Often becoming a parent makes many of us think about the future and the security of our family. For peace of mind many parents make a Will or update their Will and appoint a guardian to look after a child in the event of their death. No one wants to think about not being…
