Agricultural Paralegal

Location: Wells

The Firm

At Mogers Drewett, we believe good legal advice should work in the real world, not just in theory. We combine technical expertise with a practical understanding of people, organisations and commercial reality. It’s an approach that shapes how we advise clients and how we develop our people.

The Team

Agriculture and rural law is about more than just land.

Our Agriculture & Rural Land team works closely with farmers, landowners and rural businesses across the South West, often supporting families and enterprises we have advised for generations. The work sits at the intersection of property, business, family and long-term decision-making, helping clients navigate matters that can have consequences for years, and sometimes generations.

Understanding our clients means understanding their world. Whilst much of the work is office-based, you’ll also find members of the team building relationships with clients where they live and work.

The Work

You’ll support the Partners and team members across a broad range of agricultural and rural land matters, gaining exposure to land transactions, agricultural tenancies, rights of way, succession planning, diversification projects and wider rural business issues.

Working closely with experienced lawyers and legal professionals, you’ll play an active role in client matters from an early stage, helping to keep transactions moving, supporting client relationships and developing your understanding of the agricultural sector.

How We Work

We recognise that learning often happens through observation, conversation and working alongside experienced colleagues. For that reason, you’ll spend meaningful time with the team, building your knowledge of both the law and the sector.

About You

You may already have legal experience, a rural background, or simply a genuine interest in agriculture and rural businesses.

More important than any particular route into the role is curiosity, practicality and a willingness to learn. We’re looking for someone who enjoys understanding how things work, takes pride in doing a good job and wants to develop their skills over time.

If you’re interested in a role that offers variety, responsibility and the opportunity to work closely with clients and colleagues in a sector that remains at the heart of many rural communities, we’d love to hear from you. To apply, please submit your CV using the form on this page.
