Parenting with Purpose: Insights for SEN Families

In these two special episodes, solicitor Anne-Marie Worth talks to one of her colleagues Nicola Setchell.  Nicola is a parent of a child with special educational needs and she has several important questions concerning her son’s future care and security.

Episode One – LPAs

The first of the two discussions is aimed at parents with SEN children and raises some important questions relating to the long-term support for their vulnerable children; it offers guidance on the relevant legal processes parents might need to consider as their SEN child approaches 18, processes that will allow them to continue making financial and welfare decisions on their child’s behalf for as long as necessary.

Anne-Marie Worth – Solicitor, Private Client, Sherborne

As a private client solicitor, I specialise in preparing Wills for those seeking peace of mind for their future and the security of their family. I am also experienced in managing all aspects of probate and estate administration following the loss of a loved one.

I deal with high net worth matters, inheritance tax/estate planning and succession issues.  I am also part of our late life team and deal with the preparation of Lasting Powers of Attorney and Deputyship applications.  In addition, I assist clients who lack mental capacity with the management of their property and financial affairs in situations where we are appointed as Attorneys or Deputies.

I have a wide range of experience, having worked in the Midlands, London and Dorset and am a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Helping families, elderly clients and personal representatives and navigating them through often complex issues is a very rewarding part of my job. I pride myself in offering a personal service to each client, with a sympathetic but professional approach.

Having a young family keeps me very busy outside of work.  With any spare time, I love keeping active and all things musical, particularly playing the piano.
